Denise
and Samuel Wallace produce jewelry predominately inspired by the people,
animals and folk-tales of Alaska and the Bering Sea. They use gold, silver,
carved and scrimshawed fossil walrus ivory and semi-precious stones in
their work.
The
Wallaces moved to Santa Fe, NM in 1977 so that Denise could attend the
Institute of American Indian Arts. After she graduated in 1982 they opened
up their jewelry studio and for 10 years produced an annual show of Alaskan
Art called "Visions of Alaska". During this time they, along
with a small group of employees, also produced a line of jewelry that
was available through galleries and museum shops.
Five
years ago they moved with their two children, Dawn and David to Hawaii.
They continue to make a limited number of jewelry pieces available through
this website and a few showings on the mainland.
